Sweetest Surprise

Hello people! My finals ended one week ago, so now I'm on a 2-week semester break, which ends next Sunday, unfortunately :( Time really flies when you're in college. And time flies even faster when you're on holidays.

Anyway I'm sure most of you have probably heard of Susan Boyle? She's known as the "frumpy woman with an angelic voice". She appeared on one of the Britain's Got Talent auditions, looking rather unkempt with frizzy hair and a large apron-like dress. She was 47 years old, and when she announced that she liked to sing and wanted to become as famous as one of the top singers, everyone disregarded her. You could tell by the looks on their faces that they thought she was exaggerating. You could read their minds through their mocking eyes: "What could a woman like that have to offer?"

But the minute she opened her mouth, her voice drowned out their pessimism. She really did have a beautiful voice, and that stunned every one in the room including the judges. So, one huge lesson was learned that afternoon: Never judge a book by its cover.

And here's another sweet surprise from a little boy who also attended the audition. He's 12, he's amazing... he's Shaheen Jafargholi! :)

Lost

You thought you knew what you were doing.

But you didn't.

You thought you knew where you were going.

But you were wrong.

You wish you could take a step back into time.

But you can't.

You want to change things for the better.

But you don't know how.

Lost.
one way in, but which way out?

Dating Spree!

You probably don't need to know this, but I'll be seeing different people these two weeks. Ooh yes. I've got three interesting guys to hang out with.. two for this weekend, and one for next week. =D

Today, I went out with this guy who was rather boring at first, but later on he seemed to make sense. He was all about American Government, explaining the explicit terms like 'filibusters' and 'caucus' and other terms I'd never heard of. I wanted to cancel the date, but I decided to stay on a little longer and let the guy continue, since this was what he lived for. At the end of the first 30 minutes, I began to understand what he was saying, because I had started to pay attention. He was quite interesting, really. I extended the date to another hour or so, before saying goodbye but we promised to meet again during the weekend. He has more to tell me about American politics!

Oh, he wasn't that charming to begin with; but he was a very intellectual chap. He looks like this:

His name is Mr. Politics.

Ah, yes. I forgot to mention that he is a book. =) Anyway, one picture tells it all.

Lol. So yeah, I've been cramming my brain with POLITICS the whole of last night and today. Time is running out and the final exams are beginning next Monday! And I still have 2 more subjects to study :(

Tomorrow, I'll be meeting with Mr. Music over a cup of coffee, and Mr. Anthro next week.

To those who will be sitting for final exams too, you should seriously go on a dating spree too! *you know what I mean* :)
and Good Luck!!

PS: Maybe it's the studying that's gotten to me. =p I need coffeeee.

Skippin'

I have Music and Anthropology today, but I feel lazy.

I already planned to stay home and study for the Music test on Monday. Anyway, I assumed that we'd be watching August Rush during Music class today, since some of the classmates requested it in the previous lesson, and I remember my lecturer saying "Okay we'll watch it in the next class."

Then five minutes ago I received a text from my friend asking if I'm going to class and I was like "No I'm going to skip it. After all there's nothing going on except watching the movie."

"Haha no, we're going to learn about minor scales and the 20th century laaa."

"Oh crap. Really? Haha. Nevermind. Lazy lahh. I'll just study at home. Besides, I already made plans."

"Oh really ahhh? What plans?"

"Plans to skip class today. Lol."

Anyway he said he'll be bumming at home too.

This is the 2nd last week of classes. Then it'll be FINALS... and the hopefully enjoyable 2-week break. I don't have much planned for the 2-week holiday. Except catching up with my good pals and maybe heading for a movie. And doing some shopping, if I'm lucky.

Time to continue bumming. Cheerios!
