Photography

Photography is powerful. With a soft push of the button, time is frozen and locked into a singe frame to be remembered forever. When there's a camera, the subject never ages and never dies.

It's all about passion, perspective and precision...and Photoshop, in case you're a Photoshop junkie like me.

I fell in love with photography back in 2007 when I got my first camera phone. It was a Sony Ericsson K750i, a very basic camera phone that produced less-than-impressive quality photos. But that was how I discovered my passion for photography. A year later, I bought my first digital camera, a Canon Ixus 80, and it was the eye behind all my pictures for three years, until I finally set my hands on the Canon Rebel T2i. That camera took photography to a whole new level. :D

I started my very first photoblog in 2007: Through The Lens and moved on to a broader platform: Flickr but I don't update those blogs anymore because I channel fresh photographs onto Carissa Gan Photography, my casual and personal photoblog, and my photography portfolio! :)

My photographs reflect my lifestyle. I love traveling, food and people. I'm also caving into fashion photography, but its's still a project I'm currently working on. I try to update my photoblog whenever I have time off from my hectic college schedule.

In the summer of 2012, I created a photography page on Facebook. Honestly, I fell in love with photography not for the hopes of being a famous photographer, but for the joy of creating wonderful memories.

I am not artistic, and I'm not being modest. I can't draw to save a life. But my love for photography is the closest I'll ever be into the deep, inquisitive world of art.

Oh, do feel free to leave comments or suggestions! :) I love feedback.
