Happy CNY 2008

It's that time of the year again. Fireworks, chinese music, cookies, all the jolly hustling and bustling about and the awaited Red Packets. That's the only thing I've always fancied about Chinese New Year. I'm leaving for Negeri Sembilan in 30 minutes and I only finished my packing 10 minutes ago. (got lectured by my parents for the last minute packing, obviously =D ) To which I habitually retorted: At least I still managed to get it done!! Yesterday, my mom baked some almond cookies so I decided to help out... and try a few new thingies on my own.

Original version of almond cookies

The new version made by me.

Hey, baking is all about having fun and being creative. So I decided to add some chocolate chips into the cookies and mold them into various shapes. My brother said the top ones looked like poop. o.O Thanks for the comment, dude. I love you.

Yesterday, we went to visit my relatives in Brickfields and I saw my paralyzed cousin sister, Ting Ting. She's a darling. My heart reaches out for her every single time I look at her. It was not her fault that she was born with a brain damage and has to live dependent on her parents' support and nurture 24/7. She's turning 16 this year, and I'm so sure she'd give anything in the world to have a normal life like everyone else.
That's my uncle Lee Sheng Chow (the Malaysian paralympic champion for "lontar peluru") and.. he's blind. But his love for his daughter is never-failing. And seeing them just makes me want to cry. God has a reason for why this has to happen to them, but nevertheless, everyone around them loves them so much. I know that He's got a great plan in store for my uncle and my dear cousin.

And with that, I really need to leave now. Have a Wonderful Chinese New Year!
hugs and kisses.
