HELLO-WEEN at La Lucha Space

I went for the Vortex reading at La Lucha Space tonight. And I dressed up specially for this Halloween event ;)

Meow! Thought I should get the cat ears and cat face too, for the sake of dressing up.

So I went as this blue-eared leopard and joked to my friend that I was representing the extinct blue-eared leopards in Malaysia... and she actually believed me. HAHA. Her response was, "I've never been to Malaysia so I don't know what you guys really have there!"

True. But blue-eared leopards? Come on! :) Ahh, I love you anyway, Taylor. <3

The cat and Cleopatra

There was quite a crowd at La Lucha tonight. I brought Kyle with me, so I was snapping away all night. It was an open mic reading and there were at least 10 students who recited their creative work tonight, ranging from poetry to short fiction.

This guy was reading a poem about pigeons and rape.

Most of them were Creative Writing majors, I believe. They are incredibly talented and imaginative people. It was interesting that they chose bizarre topics to share, especially the ones about rape and murder. I thought the themes were rather dark... but anyway, it's Halloween, so that's okay!

The host of the night

Had fun tonight! Here's a secret: It's my first time dressing up for Halloween. Halloween isn't widely celebrated in Malaysia. Well, I chose the easiest costume - all I had to do was wear a black blouse over black leggings, a satin leopard scarf, put on a cat headband and do my makeup... and TA-DA! CAT. :P

Dumbledore, Cleopatra and Cat. :)

And ooh, I'm heading to TUNICA tomorrow for the weekend. :D It's in Mississippi. Super pumped. Toodles. ;)
