It's that time of the year again. Time to tuck away the boots and scarves and bring out the flip flops and tank tops.
As summer rolls into Arkansas, the sun kisses your cheek and the occasional rush of breeze carries slight relief, only to vanish ever so abruptly in the dry, scorching heat.
The air is tinted with the smell of fresh grass and hot dogs. Children's laughter rings in a distance, a clear sound of joy and appreciation for another amazing day. As you listen closely, you hear the sound of leaves brushing the wind.
Colors are beaming vibrantly; the grass is a lush green and the flowers are blooming in gorgeous hues. You turn your face to the sky and watch as the white fluffy clouds float freely in the brilliant blue horizon, following the breath of the atmosphere.
When you have to slather your skin with sunscreen and slip on bug-eyed sunglasses whenever you leave the house, that's when you know summertime is here.
