I think I've said this before: I plan to migrate to Singapore after I graduate.
And I still feel that way. I don't really intend to launch into a speech comparison on how Singapore differs from Malaysia because most of us already know the vast differences; so I'll just leave it as it is.
I don't have much time to blog because I still need to prepare my speech for tomorrow's Public Speaking presentation; and I still have no clue what to talk about. Believe me, I've spent days thinking about it and nothing applicable has crossed my mind!

On our first night there, my uncle took all of us out to his golf club for dinner. We had a feast of exquisite Chinese dishes. I (being who I am) took out my camera to take some pictures of the place and the food because I wanted to add them to my blog. Fortunately I managed to take a quick shot of some of the dishes before I had to keep my camera away. Haha, if you knew me well, you'd know that I'm always trying to take pictures of things just for memory, or, to blog about.
Dinner was delicious. For dessert, the adults ordered the Chinese fried redbean pancake and mango puddings. One of them ordered a deep-fried ice cream for himself. He loves food, and despite my grandmother complaining that "Fried ice cream is like fire and ice; they're unhealthy to be taken together", he went ahead and finished the whole thing up. Lol. After dinner, my relatives went for a karaoke session. It was my first time, actually. =) Initially they all were singing old Chinese songs which I didn't know how to sing. So I just listened... drank my drink... and listened... until I nearly dozed off. Then out of nowhere, they chose "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias and asked me to sing. Not wanting to be a spoilsport, I took the mike and sang. Haha. I won't say that I'm a good singer; and I thank God that it was just within my family. If I had to sing like that in front of my friends, I'd die of humiliation, probably :)
As for shopping, I visited a three malls in total; but didn't really purchase much. The season for sales had long gone and the first two malls that I went to were almost empty. =.= On the second night, my relatives suggested something totally extraordinary.
It was after dinner when one of them said, "Let's go to Geylang and look at the China chickens."
In my mind, I was wondering, "China chickens? Who knows if they're contaminated too?" but verbally, I said, "We just had dinner."
They all started laughing.
That was when I realized it wasn't real chicken they were talking about.
They were talking about prostitutes. In Chinese, they're called "kai" which also refers to "chicken".
So I was like WTH I didn't come to Singapore to look at prostitutes! But my relatives said that the China prostitutes were exceptionally gorgeous compared to the 'normal' ones. It's such a waste that they ended up as prostitutes on the dingy streets of Geylang.
So that night itself, we took a drive to Geylang... to see the prostitutes. I still can't believe I'm typing this here. Hahaha. Two of my uncles were in front, and two of my aunts at the back, with my mom and I, and my two little cousins (aged 5 and 7) with us. We weren't the only ones who'd gone there just to take a look at the prostitutes. I think there were heaps of other people who purposely drove by or walked by just to have a look themselves. Lol. And really - the China girls were a sight. They were tall and fair and slim and clad in almost nothing at all. I think what really attracted people to linger at their side was because they looked like GT race queens. They were lined up in a long row, reaching out to men who walked by. They were like promoters, except they were promoting themselves. There were even young girls who looked as though they were only sixteen or seventeen! OMG. As we drove past, I saw a very young Chinese prostitute with an elderly man. I think he was a Bangladeshi or something. 0.o It's really such a pity that these girls are forced into prostitution.
There were pimps everywhere. One pimp was gripping the arm of a man, forcing him to take a look at the prostitutes. The man was obviously uninterested and tried to get away but then two other pimps came up and began talking to him. Desperados. Oh yeah, there were even homosexual transvestites there. Haha, and I thought they only existed in Thailand. Mind you, I saw one of the gay prostitutes wearing a really nice black MNG blouse. While my relatives were checking out the prostitutes, I was checking out their clothes. :P
Then we saw this tall female prostitute. She was wearing a transparent black fishnet dress and nothing else!! My cousin brother who's 7 by the way, started laughing hysterically along with the rest of us and shouted, "Eeee! Look at that woman!! Faster take picture!" His parents must be crazy for bringing him along.
Ahem. Moving on...
Singapore has delicious food. Don't get me wrong; KL has tons of them I know. But certain stuff are only found in Singapore.
Such as the infamous American 'mamak stall' known as Botak Jones, which serves authentic American dishes at reasonable prices.
And there's a Chinese dessert shop in Bugis called "Ji De Chi". In direct translation, it means "Remember To Eat." They serve ginger milk, creamy durian pudding (for durian lovers), glutinous rice balls and syrup, and plenty more.
Ahhh I'm hungry.
I need to prepare my speech now. Blogging has consumed one hour from me, thanks to the pictures. It took me at least five minutes to upload a single picture.
To end this, I'll introduce you to two of my adorable cousin sisters.
