13th March 2009

I know my Music class's group performances occurred weeks ago, but I keep my promises.

Here are some pictures taken on that very day :)

It was a Friday on March 13. Friday the 13th. I don't believe in superstitions, though :) Everything went well..

There were 3 groups that were performing. My group was the 2nd. So while the first group was performing on the stage, the rest of us were busy getting ready in the room, finalizing the characters' makeup and dressing.

I didn't manage to get photos of my group's performance, though. :( We played out various scenes from The Phantom Of The Opera but we gave the classic story a modern twist :)

We had a very voluptuous LA CARLOTTA, played by Boon Han. He's the she *cough* man!

People wondered if those were real.
Boon Han was proudly showing them off. Look at him. Lol.

We actually spent quite some time on LA CARLOTTA's image, because Boon Han did not want to look like a transexual. He wanted to look glamorous. To be honest, we spent a good deal of time on his boob job.

He insisted on balloons, because he wanted them popped. OK, fine. So Sudha and I went to get balloons for him. When he started blowing, he wouldn't stop. We kept telling him it was ENOUGH but he ignored us and kept breathing more air into the balloons until they were enormous. Then, he placed them against the front of his shirt and tied a bikini top around them, to hold them in place. Then he wore a big black blouse over it. But the balloons were too heavy and they dropped so low all the way to his tummy. So there he was, standing there helplessly, holding the balloons with a worried expression on his face. "Oh no, they're dropping."

That was when I told him to use my black elastic waist belt, to support the huge balloons. So he used the waist belt, and it brought out the size of his new boobs. It acted like a push-up bra. Haha. And when he came onstage, the crowd went gaga.

"La Carlotta" and "Raoul"

We also had a vain Raoul (played by Ryan) who pretended to be in love with Christine Daee, only because she was his link to the Phantom (played by JC). And when Raoul and the Phantom met, they fell for each other. Well, I did say the story was twisted, didn't I? =D

"Christine Daee" and the narrators :)

And we had the lovely Christine Daee (played by Samantha) who basically had to pretend to be a crybaby when Raoul dumped her for the Phantom. And Sudha and I were the narrator sof the story. The whole idea was that we did not get along well, and I had to be the bossy one who lost my temper on stage. Lol.

JC and Boon Han and Squat, the chicken

So, there you have it. An old classical tale gone wild. =)

Squat is so cute. Now I know how it got his name.
It squats! Lmao.
