Blessed

Flying over Manhattan was magical. The city lights twinkled brilliantly, like stars across the night sky.

As the plane flew over Manhattan, I marveled at the view from my little window. Even from a far distance, I recognized the peak of the Empire State building. The cluster of skyscrapers towered over the other buildings. Beauty lay a hundred feet below, a shimmering land that never sleeps. The roads were steady streams of gold, and the entire city was lit up, like it was powered by a large source of energy. Gold and silver lights ran through the city like blood coursing through its veins.

I soared over a dark sea of glistening lights, welcoming me into its vastness. This world, despite how foreign it was, pulsed with so much life that you couldn't help but be awed. I felt my throat constrict; this was such a rare opportunity - to be able to fly into the city of my dreams and witness such a beautiful sight - was a real blessing.

And I thanked God, amazed by His mercy once again, and promised I'd make the most out of my summer in New York.
