Men & Stilettos

Yesterday, my lecturer told us to get in groups and choose two totally different things and then link them up with similarities. (eg: peanut butter & video games, cars & chewing gum)

My group chose Men and Stilettos. (it was Divya's idea and she deserves the credit)

This is a Stiletto.

1. They make you look good.
They both come in different shapes, sizes and colors. Imagine having a hunk of a boyfriend beside you. He'd make an awesome accessory to go with your Prada handbag and Jimmy Choos. Even if you don't own a Prada handbag or expensive shoes, your man makes an attractive statement himself. Just like a pair of sexy stilettos to match your outfit, he blends in well to suit your occasion.

2. The good ones are always taken.
Girls, you know this is true. I'm talking about walking into a shoe shop and spotting the perfect pair that fits you - only to be shattered with "Sorry, Miss. No stock/size available." It's frustrating! Same thing with men - there are lots of good guys out there but it's either they're already taken or they have tons of women fighting over them. Everyone wants a piece of that pretty stiletto - but it's only meant for one.

3. It takes patience to deal with them
Stilettos are not the most comfortable shoes around. If you're not familiar wearing them, they can give you a hard time and possibly even blisters. But over time, once you've worn them long enough, a kind of connection will emerge between the shoes and you - you won't find yourself tripping or having aching feet anymore. Same goes with men - it takes time to understand and get used to their character. Once you have, that should make life easier.

4. They can fail on you without a warning
As girls, we know what it's like placing our trust in our shoes to NOT fail on us when we're having a great time in the mall or at our favorite places. But we know that Stilettos are Man-made, so they can break or snap anytime. You can never truly predict the lifespan of your shoes, even if you take good care of them. I hate it when I'm walking in the mall and the heel of my shoe breaks, or the strap snaps. What happens, then? It's such a tedious thing to deal with. Most men can't help it - they're men. They can bail on you anytime and leave you feeling stranded.

"Men are fabulous. Everyone should have 9 or 10."
- Lisa Gastineau -

LOL. Of course this does not apply to ALL MEN. We just made a very generalized statement for our presentation. We should've narrowed it down to "Hunky Ex-Boyfriends and Stilettos".
There are plenty of wonderful men in our lives, and we're so grateful for them. Keep them close, because these are the good ones ;)
