"Carissa, I know a better place that cooks better Tom Yam fried rice than this. I'll take you there next time."
Sheepishly, I replied, "Okay. But at least the rice tastes a lot better than their noodles."
Seriously. The dry noodles there are like ordinary Wan Tan Mee and the soup noodles taste no better than Maggi mee. o.O
But the Tom Yam fried rice is good though! :)
Ahem. Enough about food. We made a last minute planning to go to Pyramid today and watch Made of Honor! Everyone's been saying it's a good movie so we gave it a shot. But first, we had to flag down a taxi first. Malaysian cab drivers are the worst, greediest, most dishonest creeps in the transportation industry. The cab drivers strive to get every penny out of us and we strive to keep every penny.
Wes managed to stop a cab and asked the driver (an Indian) how much the fare was from Inti to Sunway Pyramid. The guy responded, "Six ringgit."
AG had already tracked down another cab and was already asking the driver something. Then he told us all to get into that taxi. So as we piled into the car of the second taxi, AG asked the Chinese driver how much he was going to charge us and to our horror, the balding Chinese guy said, "Seven ringgit."
We tried to bargain with him, but he kept going on and on about petrol prices soaring up and how lucky we were that he was only charging us Rm7 for the ride. I was tempted to say, "Another cabbie offered Rm6." but decided against it. What's the use arguing over one miserable ringgit? Let the old man have it. His English was hilarious I tell you. Even AG, my dear Mongolian friend, could speak better English than him.
Cab driver: Now ahh... the petrol price so espenshive you knowww. The metre very hyper. Keep going up... never come down...
I was laughing so hard in the backseat. Did he just say "hyper metre"?
Then he was discussing politics with AG in front.
Cab driver: Okay. I'm Chinese. Pretend I don't want to join this party, so I plug out from the party and in in the Malay one.
None of us had a clue what he was rambling about.
Then AG asked him if he had any kids.
Cab driver: OH YES. My childrens ah. All study in the ahhhh... the UK. I also study in the UK last time. I lawyer. Very smart. Got degree!!!
AG: So you must be very rich.
Cab driver: HAHAHAHAH. Oh no! Nooo - I'm not rissh. I retire long time ago. But Malaysia no good. Singapore better.
Okayyy. Anyway, those were the little snippets of conversation I remembered in the cab. By then, he had stopped outside the mall so we got out and hurried to buy the tickets for Made Of Honor. It was a really, really, really good movie! If you haven't seen it, it's definitely one you shouldn't miss! It's an excellent mixture of comedy and romance. By far, this was probably one of the best romantic comedies I've seen this year.

By the way, the soundtrack in the movie was captivating. I came home and began looking up all the songs from the movie. Hehe. I've added some to my playlist. Enjoy XD
Next movie on my list: Kung Fu Panda. Everyone's been telling me how GOOD it was. I should give it a shot and experience it for myself.
And I'm going to take up a new hobby this weekend: baking! I was supposed to help my mom out with her cotton cheesecake later... provided she actually decides to bake it tonight. I was thinking... I need to get a new hobby... something that comes in handy when I go to the U.S. next time... and like a flashing lightbulb, baking just popped into my mind! :) The only thing I actually know how to bake at the moment is apple crumble. That's really easy to make. You put the cinnamon-coated apple chunks at the bottom of the bowl, layer it with sprinkles of peanuts and flour and leave it in the oven to bake! Then when it's hot and ready, you add a dollop of vanilla ice cream and spoon your way through. Yum. Great dessert =)
That's what it's supposed to look like.
When I start baking, I'll post pictures of my own creations. Hehe.
Cheers, people. Have a great weekend.
