We're going GHOST-HUNTING during the Hungry Ghost festival!!! :)
Ish. Yeah right. Don't be silly enough to believe that. Lol.
As if Eddie, my lecturer, would actually allow us to do something like that. If he did, then he's crazy.
My group leader selected "Religious Freedom". So we have to do a research on a religion other than the usual Islam/Buddhist/Christian/Hindu/Taoist religions to prove that Malaysia is culturally and religiously diversified.
My leader enthusiastically suggested that we do a research on The Sky Kingdom.
I thought it was a computer game.
My friend thought it was a movie.
It turned out to be a type of religion. Or rather, a cult.
I mean, honestly. How many of you have heard of the SKY KINGDOM as a religion?! The name bears a type of reality-fantasy concept. I asked people if they had heard of the religion called "Sky Kingdom" and they all produced the similar contortion of the face:

Proves I'm not the only ignorant one :)
I did a bit of research on the subject and came across an extraordinary discovery... basically, the cult group was founded by an old man in Terengganu known as "Ayah Pin". He and his followers believe that all religions are basically the same because they will eventually lead back to the same God. They also believe that Ayah Pin is a reincarnation of everyone: from Shiva to Buddha, from Jesus to Mohammad.

That's the dude. Ayah Pin.
And the teapot and the indigo vase reminds me of a scene right out of Alice in Wonderland. Except this is Ayah Pin in Sky Kingdom. Malaysian version la. Okay, well anyway, they believe that Ayah Pin is the King of The Sky because he has direct contact with the heavens. In other words, they take him as GOD.
When rain falls into the teapot, they believe it is holy water and they drink it, faithfully positive that this was the holiest essence from the heavens.
Okay. Not that I've anything against it, but I just can't help pondering how this old man managed to convert THOUSANDS of people in Malaysia, Indonesia and even Singapore to believe his bizarre theory. Did he dream the whole thing up?
In Psychology last semester, we studied this disease called schizophrenia, a scientific term for hallucination.
