Of Food, Movies and Pests

I'd sum up my day in 3 words: food, movies and pests.

FOOD
My Cell Group planned a surprise farewell party for Joanna Saw cuz she's leaving for the UK next week. The dinner was held at Rachel's place, and when I arrived, everyone was still setting up the dishes and the barbecue stand. Marinated chicken smothered in honey, grilled garlic bread, scrumptious hot dogs, salad with dressing, delicious fried Chinese noodles but unfortunately, I had to leave early so I totally missed out on the luscious cheese-coated marshmallows, as reported by Aaron.

The food was utterly tasty. My favorite was the garlic bread. =)

It was Shern Ai's birthday yesterday!! Anyway we decided to celebrate it again for her, so here she is posing with that opulent piece of strawberry cream cake.

A smiling Shern Ai =)

Then Rachel got out the drinks... and that was when some silly things cracked the surface.
Chee Liang was holding up his glass of 100 Plus. Bernard took one look at it and went, "That's not 100 Plus you're drinking. That's diabetes." Lol.

And then about 15 minutes later Bernard was complaining about his headache. Instinctively, I just uttered the first words that came to my mind; without really considering what I was saying.
"You should take panadol and 100 plus. Really helps."

*everyone burst out laughing while I realized my mistake.*

"Wah Carissa! You want to kill him ah?? Panadol and 100 Plus??" Chee Liang joked.
"No, no. What I meant to say was, you should just take 100 plus alone, not panadol." I told Bernard.
And then I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe.
I blame the 100 Plus. Bernard's right. Too much sugar. Screws up the brain. Hahaha.

Jo and Chee Liang.

Awww Jo I'll really miss you !! :(

MOVIES
Thanks to Limewire, I downloaded Meet Dave and Camp Rock. [Yes, I'm going to revert back to being a movie-frenzy girl again]
Meet Dave was awful. =( I think I wasted an hour on that movie. I forced myself to get through to the second half, only to give up and delete the movie before I reached the ending. That's to prove how much I really disliked it. One word: bo-ring.

Camp Rock was surprisingly better than I thought it'd be. It's a gazillion times nicer than High School Musical. It featured the Jonas Brothers [Joe Jonas as the lead actor. Loved the hairdo.] and Demi Lovato [loved the voice].

And then only about 30 minutes ago, I was listening to Hitz.fm and DJ Ean was having a conversation with a female caller.
DJ Ean: Hey! So I'm going to ask you a very simple question, and if you get it right, you will win free tickets to the premiere of Camp Rock!
Caller: Okay.
DJ Ean: Here's the question. Spell "Camp".
Caller: C-A-M-P ?
DJ Ean: CONGRATULATIONS!!! You've just won free tickets to the opening of Camp Rock!

LOL. This is Hitz.fm wor. Supposed to be the Number 1 hitz station in Malaysia .... And that conversation would so totally degrade its image to foreigners. But who cares? It made me laugh =p

If only such questions were posted in my finals.

eg: How many letters are there in PHILOSOPHY?

PESTS
I hate cockroaches. I truly despise them. Everytime I see one, I get sick to my stomach and I feel the urge to run about 10 miles away.
Logically, everyone hates them.
I was alone in my room when I saw an ugly fat cockroach scuttering across the floor and I watched in horror as it suddenly flew right toward me! It didn't come near me, but it tried to and I panicked. I did the best thing I could do.

'Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cockroach!!!!!!!!!'

My mom is super Mom I tell you. Hahaha. She's not afraid of bugs and insects - in fact, she loves torturing them with that electric pest-zapper racquet. It's a handy device for sending a jolt of electricity through the bodies of those disgusting pests. It practically roasts them alive =) And she enjoys it alot.
Roasted cockroach. HAH. You're dead meat now.

Oh kayyy it's almost 1 am now. I'm off to bed!

Happy Birthday Ho Kye Le! ;)
