On Friday, I went to One U with Dana. :) We had lunch at O'Briens because she claimed that the sandwiches there were much better than Subway's.
I thought O'Briens was alright, but I still miss Subway's! After that, we checked out the shops. We spotted a few items that we liked, but unfortunately, both of us were runninng on a tight budget. So it was mostly window shopping for us.
Do you know what disappointment is?
Disappointment is when you want something but can't have it because you're not made for it. Or in this case, it's more like, the thing that you want so much isn't made for you.
I wanted to get a new pair of heels/wedges. I don't know how some people can say that "all shoes look alike" because they don't! Haha. Every shoe is unique. And some shoes fit well, while others are just better off on the shelf. Anyway, I found a denim pair of wedges that I really liked at Vincci. The price was within my budget, and now I needed some assurance to support my attempt to purchase the shoes. I kept asking Dana, "What do you think of this?" And she was like "It's cute."
So I asked the sales lady, "Do you have this in size 4?"
She said she'd go and check. When she went off, I was telling Dana how much I really wanted it.
Then the sales lady came back and told me, "Sorry. The smallest size we have is Size 5."
The first thing that came to my mind was: you gotta be kidding me. I haven't been shopping in ages and I finally discover a pair that I'm so in love with and now she tells me they don't have it in my size.
I looked at all the other shoes in the shop but none of them were as attractive as the denim wedges. Dana said that maybe I wasn't meant to buy those shoes. Because if they were meant for me, they'd fit perfectly. Which they didn't. You know, my feet size are a 4.5. And yeah that's why it's always so hard to get shoes. =.= So, pretty shoe shops like Vincci and NOSE should really start catering for those with small feet.
So when I left Vincci, I was disappointed. But anyway, since we couldn't shop for clothes or shoes, we decided to spend some cash on... stationery! It was Dana's fault... mostly. Lol. She was like "Ooh look!! Sharpie markers!" Then I went over and saw colorful Sharpie markers on sale. I don't collect Sharpie markers... and I've never been in love with them. But before I knew it, I was happily carrying a bunch of them to the counter.
So much for being a "practical shopper". But anyway, I'll make sure those Sharpie markers don't go to waste. They're quite a good investment, actually. I can use them to decorate stuff, write on CDs, doodle... anyway I'm sure there will be a time when they come in handy. I'll ensure that.
We watched He's Just Not That Into You and both of us just weren't that into it. It was quite a predictable movie about various dating scenarios.
Desperate girl + Not so desperate guy = disaster .
Married man + single sexy girl = disaster.
woman wants to get married + man doesn't want to get married = disaster.
So this movie would give really good advice on how to both pursue and avoid disastrous relationships.
Yawns. I think I'd rate it 3 over 5? It's a basic chick flick movie. It's the kind of movie that girls would like to watch with their best friends . . . and guys would try to avoid it.
For dinner, we ate at Nando's. I miss the chicken and Peri-Peri sauce!! While we were waiting for our food, I witnessed an embarrasing accident in front of my eyes. A few tables away, a waiter was holding a try with a milkshake on it. As he bent to serve the drink, so did the tray, and the drink splashed down the front of a woman's blouse. And she was wearing white. Ouchhh.
Anyway, after a hearty meal at Nando's, we left for home.
It's been ages since I last went shopping. So thank you so much Dana babe! I really had fun! :)
And like I promised, a post with you in it! :) Cheers!
