Galveston Beach, Houston

I love the beach.
I love how the waves crash rhythmically upon the water and curl toward the shore.
I love standing right at the edge of the water and gazing out into the sea, at the massive horizon that stretches far ahead.
I love how the water twinkles under the glare of the morning sunlight.

I love curling my feet into the velvety brown sand and feeling its warmth as it wraps around my toes.
I love taking long, cool dips in the water before basking in the sun in hopes of a nice summer tan.

I love the sound of the birds singing freely in the skies, the rush of water and the gentle whistle of the wind as it caresses my face.
I love the salty smell of seawater riding on the back of the wind.

And I love the tranquility of relaxing by the beach, unperturbed by the usual roar of city life, and just allowing my thoughts to escape into serenity.

Written on the beach in my little travel journal under the blue skies of Galveston.
