Greetings from Singapore

I had my first Oreo McFlurry yesterday. Technically, it was actually my FIRST time eating a McFlurry. Erm, yeah.. I got all these big-eyed stares when I told my friends that it was my first time. I guess it's like hearing someone say they've never eaten junk food or sweets before. Haha. Btw, I really know someone who hasn't eaten junk food or candy before. She herself admitted it to me when I offered her some sweets and I thought she was kidding. But she wasn't. I don't know why I never thought of ordering a McFlurry before this. Dana just told me that it's been out in the market for almost 10 years already. Heh.

I was in McD's with my friends for lunch yesterday and one of them has really, really weird eating habits. He ordered a Fish Fillet and instead of chomping it down as a whole, he ate it layer by layer. First, he took off the bread on top and ate it. Then, he moved right to the bottom and ate off the bottom part, leaving the fish fillet all alone, smothered in sauce. Everyone else found it odd too. Because that's not how you eat a burger! Hahaha. Anyway, everyone's entitled to his or her own eating habit, right? Some just have it a little more unique ;)

I'm in Singapore!!! Got here right after college. I barely had time to pack my stuff. I came here with my mom, bro and my next-door-neighbors, who are actually my uncle, aunt and cousin brother :) We left at 2.30pm and reached my relatives' place in Singapore at 7pm. Singapore's a great country. It's like KL but a whole lot better. Hahaha. We actually came to give a surprise to my grandmother. It's her birthday today and she had totally no idea that we were coming all the way from KL to celebrate along with her. So when we popped in yesterday and saw her sitting in the living room, my aunt and mom shouted, "SURPRISE!" (imagine two grown adults doing that) and my grandma stared at them blankly and asked, "What are you doing here?"

=.=" OMG. Potong stim-er.

Lol but after a while, she smiled and eventually admitted that she was a little stunned by our surprise visit. And she was happy. That was all that mattered. I mean, coming from my grandmother who barely expresses herself much, I'll take it as she was really excited, just not wanting to show it too much. I can't exactly expect her to jump and and squeal, "OMG it's YOUUU!!!" and rush over to hold hands with my aunt and mom and start jumping up and down like elated little girls, can I? =)

The house was really noisy last night. My other relatives from the other side of Singapore dropped in and they brought their kids, and the whole house was full of kids and adults. I was the only one of a kind. Haha. Even my brother who's 16, was hogging the comp with my other cousin brother who's 13. I thought I could blog or chat on MSN, but he had the computer occupied til 10 something at night cuz he ended up playing an online game and couldn't stop. =.=" I want a laptop! MY own laptop.

The kids were running around playing hide and seek. Then the baby was crying. Yeah, the whole house was full of little kids screaming at each other. One of my lil cousins ended up crying and nobody knew why. It was that I-dont-know-why-she-cried, but-I-didn't-do-it thing. The one who cried was a 5-year-old. She's strangely quiet with unfamiliar people and only talks alot to her family and kids around her age. My mom and I tried talking to her but she was exceptionally quiet... and refused to say a single word. I was having a 'conversation' with her last night.
Me: So how old are you? (just wanted her to talk)
*silence*
Me: You're still in kindergarten, right?
*silence*
Me: ... hello? Haha. Are you really that shy??
*silence*
Me: Okayyyy. Nevermind :)

I figured that's going to be a tough one to crack. I don't blame her for refusing to speak; cuz she's still not familiarized with me. But she can be really LOUD when she wants to. My cousin brother accidentally stepped on her pencil and she yelled, "Stupid boy!!" Then the maid immediately told her not to say such things but she scolded the maid, "Shut up!!" Hmm. Someone's really got to teach that girl how to socialize properly...

Initially, I wasn't having so much fun.. I didn't have anyone to really communicate with because the adults were caught up in their 'adult gossips' and the kids were busy playing catching. I felt like I was in the middle of everything, teetering on the edge of both sides. I did eventually manage to go to Jurong Point (the nearest mall) this morning but we only spent less than 2 hours there. I didn't end up with alot of stuff, but that's fine. At least I got my wish of getting out of the house. Lol. I guess life can't always revolve around me and my intense desire to shop. It's my grandmother's birthday and everyone's happy about it; so even though I spent 80% at home in front of the TV, I'm still smiling right now, because of what's going on around me.

EVERYONE'S CRAZY.

I mean, really. The adults are crazy. Remember what I just said about my auntie and my grandmother jumping up and down and squealing in delight? Well, 10 minutes ago I was just saying it out of pure imagination, but now it's TRULY happpening. My grandmother DID jump around with my aunt. In fact, even my uncles joined in.

Someone struck some 4-digit thingy lahh. I don't even know who the lucky person was, or how much he or she won.. but the whole house was shrieking with joy and enthusiasm. Suppressed youth radiated through shouts and squeals of delight. I kept asking, "Who won?!?! How much??!!" But they were too busy rejoicing. I don't think anyone heard. Okay. Now I really am invisible. Oh GOD.
But well. Everyone's so friggin happy. It's like Christmas in the middle of July. I don't think I've ever seen my grandmother scream like that before. But I guess this is what happens when you've just realized you struck some big prize at a lottery thing. :)

Good. Good. So everyone's happy and they've got money. Now can we go shopping??? =p

Happy Birthday, my one-in-a-million most dearly beloved Grandmother!

I miss you guys back there. Oh, and right at this moment the Inti Ball is going on at Eastin Hotel. I hope that it's going to be as good as they promised.

Enjoy yourselves, people. :) Have a great time wherever you are.
